EU's regulations on food production/ regulations on milk production

Safeness and quality of the product are one of the most major parts of every product that have been used, transferred and produced in nowadays. With that being said, I want to introduce basic knowledge of several factors of European Food Safety Authority in terms of regulations on milk production.

First of all, let's zoom on the basics and general principles of food. There are three sections that easily describe that law:
  • Guarantee a high level of protection of human life and health and the protection of consumers’ interests. Also, guarantee fair practices in food trade, taking into account animal health and welfare, plant health and the environment
  • Ensure free movement of food and feed manufactured and marketed in the Union, in accordance with the General Food Law Regulation
  • Facilitate global trade of safe feed and safe, wholesome food by taking into account international standards and agreements when developing Union legislation, except where this might undermine the high level of consumer protection pursued by the Union.     In addition, there also a major law which describes the rights of consumers in order to mollify them while buying products for their personal use. The legislation, which means that information about the product must be provided, otherwise the product is not able to be produced, transferred and sold. Information such as 1)Mandatory allergen information  2)Labelling requirements 3)Nutrition information 4)Substitute ingredient and etc.

Milk and milk products.

Milk is produced in every single EU Member State without exception. Furthermore, milk is the EU number one single product sector in terms of value at approximately 15 % of agricultural output. The EU is a major player in the world dairy market as the leading exporter of many dairy products, most notably cheeses. (Source: http://ec.europa.eu/agriculture/milk/index_en.htm)

Of course, if we are talking about the production of the milk in terms of Eu's policy we are going to mention graphs that represent all these rotations and etc.

So, another major part of this expedition is to show you how does actually regulation of milk production work. Here is the network of how milk gets to the consumer:

1)First of all, we need a cow which can make milk.
2)Secondly, farmers and workers feed their animals with crop or grass. If we are going to talk about feeding cows in Salzburg, they use mostly grass in order to have a quality milk.
3) Then farmers take the milk with special machines.

4)Then this milk gets into the special fillers.

5)Then it transports to the fabric which is highly invested by the company that owns that production.
6)Later on, this milk fills in boxes with milk on the fabric.

7)Finally, after these several steps milk finally gets in arms of the consumer.
